He therefore started Justice Tourism Foundation out of a strong desire to provide transformative, immersive slow travel experiences for culturally, socially and environmentally conscious travelers with a purpose and passion to explore Uganda in a meaningful and impactful way with the aim of promoting the local economy and to uplift wellbeing of host communities in Uganda through creation of sustainable livelihoods opportunities in support of many United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) including access to quality formal and vocational education, access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, climate change adaptation and management, environmental conservation, improved food security, promotion of Human rights, gender equality and the preservation of diverse and indigenous cultures while giving travelers the chance to explore Uganda through customized trips (tours).

Established in 2017, JTF operates according to the tenets of “justice tourism”, that is, tourism that holds as its central goals the creation of economic opportunities for the local community, positive cultural exchange between host and guest through one-on-one interaction, the protection of the environment and encourage the conservation of cultural and natural heritage.

Our Vision:

Our Vision is of a world where tourism brings greater benefits to local communities and their participation in terms of job creation, poverty reduction and environmental management.

Our Mission

The Mission of Justice Tourism Foundation is to build a global community of impact-minded (Conscious) travelers who want to move beyond traditional tourism to engage in genuine cross cultural connection and learning opportunities- inspiring compassion towards fellow human beings.

Since it’s inception, Justice Tourism Foundation has designed and led impact travel experiences that transformes both the communities and destinations and the travelers onboard. Each trip  is a 6 – 12 days deep-dive into service, self-growth, community, and adventure. Each of our  trips features a unique mix of wildlife, cultural and educational activities, as well as community engagement projects aimed at directly improving the livelihoods of people in the destinations we visit. Our travelers help fund community initiatives such as improving access to clean, safe drinking water, Sanitation and hygiene interventions, improving access to primary health care, renewable energy, environmental conservation, school renovations, women’s empowerment programs and other community development services to impoverished rural communities in Uganda.

At Justice Tourism Foundation, we have transcended from seeing tourism as a vehicle purely for revenue generation, to an integrated sustainable tourism development tool, that can be used to promote rights of host communities, secure livelihoods of host communities, protect and advocate for protection of resources, promote peace through exposing cultures and reduce prejudices among different people. When done well, tourism support the destinations where you travel. By employing a holistic approach of social, environmental, and economic sustainable development, your travel helps to support incredible communities and their way of life.
